Secure identification and traceability
with the ATEX/IECEx UHF Reader MAGNUM 4607.
The hydrogen industry is one of the key technologies for a sustainable energy future. At the same time, it places very high demands on safety and process control, especially in areas where hydrogen is produced, stored, or filled. Secure identification and traceability are essential to reliably monitor systems, components, and processes. With UHF RFID readers from TECTUS, plant operators can reliably digitalize, control, and document their processes, even in potentially explosive environments (EX Zone 2/22).
Automatic data capture and traceability of system components
Error-free identification of equipment, vehicles, and pipelines
Real-time digital documentation of processes
In the hydrogen sector, as in many other industries, UHF readers play a central role in process digitalization. They enable efficient, secure, and automated data capture from individual components to entire facilities.
The UHF Reader MAGNUM 4607 was specifically developed for use in potentially explosive environments. With its robust stainless-steel housing and a read range of up to 10 meters, it is ideally suited for industrial applications where reliability and safety are top priorities.
It reads up to 700 tags per second and supports interfaces such as Ethernet, RS485, RS232, and optionally PoE, enabling seamless integration into existing systems. Thanks to its high performance and ATEX/IECEx certification, the MAGNUM 4607 is the right choice for sensitive processes in hydrogen production and distribution.
Future-proof: The new UHF Reader MAGNUM 4077 with integrated antenna will also be available soon as an ATEX/IECEx-certified version
All UHF readers from TECTUS combine high reading speed, robust design, and flexible connectivity. Whether in industry, logistics, or the energy sector, they provide solutions for a wide range of requirements and operating environments.
How these advantages translate into real-world applications is illustrated by an example from the hydrogen refueling sector.
When filling hydrogen trailers, precise process control is essential. Vehicles move between multiple loading zones that must be clearly and accurately assigned.
With the certified ATEX/IECEx UHF Reader MAGNUM 4607, each trailer is automatically identified as soon as it enters a zone. The system records in real time which trailer is located at which station, for example: “Trailer C is currently in loading zone B.”
This precise zone monitoring ensures maximum safety and full traceability throughout the entire filling process. All data is automatically documented and can be directly integrated into existing control systems.
In this way, RFID technology from TECTUS enables secure, efficient, and fully digital control of critical hydrogen processes.
Note on our ATEX/IECEx antennas: The MAGNUM 4607 reader supports up to four ATEX/IECEx SIRIUS 4729 antennas.
